MY APPROACH

I take an active approach towards psycho-education, communication, and skill enhancement to reduce the frequency and severity of interfering behaviors.  I've found that children and adolescents learn best in an engaging, warm environment that gives freedom for authenticity and exploration.

I view the family as a system where if one part moves, the others do as well.  This can be challenging when it comes to family struggles, but is good news for future family growth.  Even the tiniest improvement can alter the family system for the better.

Parent/guardian involvement is essential.  While I don't require this for every session, I do occasionally.  Participation allows you to better understand the work being done with your child, as well as observing and engaging in skill-building that will serve them well at home and school.

You are the bridge-builder.  Parent involvement brings therapeutic change to life at a faster rate with greater potential for success.
